WE START BY DEVELOPING FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENT SKILLS THROUGH CAREFULLY SELECTED EXERCISES. THIS PHASE IS CRUCIAL, ESPECIALLY FOR BEGINNERS, AS IT HELPS THEM GAIN EXPERIENCE, BUILD STRENGTH, AND DEVELOP CONFIDENCE IN THEIR ABILITIES.

PROGRESSING TO SPEED & PERFORMANCE

ONCE A STRONG FOUNDATION IS IN PLACE, WE SHIFT THE FOCUS TO SPEED AND EXPLOSIVENESS, HELPING ATHLETES APPLY THEIR NEWFOUND STRENGTH MORE EFFECTIVELY.

MY JOURNEY

- 6TH GRADE – Cut from the basketball team. No other sports played.
7TH GRADE – Played defense in football, cut from basketball, finished last in every track race.

 - 8TH GRADE – Played defense in football, cut from basketball, too discouraged to try track again.
9TH GRADE – Played defense in football, finally made the basketball B team, cut from baseball.
10TH GRADE – Played both sides of the ball in football, started every basketball game, made the baseball team.
- 11TH GRADE (Transferred) – Played both sides of the ball in football, came off the bench & was co-defensive player of the year in basketball, played baseball.
- 12TH GRADEConference MVP & State Champion in football, co-defensive player of the year in basketball, played baseball & ran track, went to state in the triple jump & 4x800 relay.

I WAS A LATE BLOOMER—JUST 5’2” AND 97 LBS AS A 9TH GRADER—AND ALWAYS FELT BEHIND.

I KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE TO FIGHT FOR A SPOT, TO WORK WHILE NO ONE IS WATCHING, AND TO PROVE PEOPLE WRONG.

I’LL NEVER FORGET THE ANXIETY OF SEARCHING FOR MY NAME ON THE TEAM LIST AND NOT SEEING IT.

I’LL NEVER FORGET CRYING ON MY MOM’S SHOULDER, YEAR AFTER YEAR, BECAUSE I WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH—AT THE TIME.

BUT I KEPT WORKING.

COLLEGE & STRENGTH TRAINING

WHEN I GOT TO LORAS COLLEGE, I WAS STILL THAT SKINNY KID—LESS THAN 150 LBS WITH LITTLE EXPERIENCE IN THE WEIGHT ROOM.

THAT ALL CHANGED WHEN I STARTED TRAINING UNDER STRENGTH COACH JOSH EDWARDS.

I LEARNED ABOUT STRENGTH & CONDITIONING, ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE, AND THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A STRONGER, MORE EXPLOSIVE ATHLETE.

AFTER THREE YEARS STUDYING GRAPHIC DESIGN & ELEMENTARY EDUCATION, I TRANSFERRED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-PLATTEVILLE TO STUDY HEALTH AND HUMAN PERFORMANCE, BRINGING MY PASSION FULL CIRCLE.

I BECAME THE FIRST CONFERENCE MVP FROM MY HIGH SCHOOL AND HELPED WIN THE FIRST STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN SCHOOL HISTORY.

BUT I KEPT THINKING:

💭 WHAT COULD I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED IF I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW?

WHY I STARTED WORK WITH WALLY

THAT QUESTION IS WHY I BUILT THIS PROGRAM.

I WANT TO BE A RESOURCE FOR YOUNG ATHLETES—NOT JUST TO HELP THEM TRAIN, BUT TO TEACH THEM HOW TO MOVE, HOW TO THINK, AND HOW TO GROW.

I WANT THEM TO LEARN BEFORE THEIR ATHLETIC CAREERS END, SO THAT WHEN SPORTS ARE OVER, THESE LESSONS CARRY INTO EVERYDAY LIFE—LEADING TO HEALTHIER HABITS, GREATER CONFIDENCE, AND A STRONGER FUTURE.

✔ We train 2-3 times per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 7:10 PM), and each session lasts about an hour.

✔ We run youth strength and conditioning training sessions designed to help kids improve their athleticism, confidence, and movement skills. Each session includes fun drills, games, and friendly competitions to build power, speed, balance, and body awareness.
